Roorkee Seva App
To reach out and contribute to the town of Roorkee where IIT Roorkee has spread its roots over the last 175 years, the institute came forward to provide the citizens of Roorkee with an online citizen service platform named “Roorkee Seva”.
The app was developed with the vision of “optimizing resources and exploring the potential of technology for better of living”. The app allows the user to register as a customer as well as service provider. A customer can browse over 30 day to day services in the application including education, transport, emergency and healthcare services like booking appointments with doctors etc.
Installation of the app is very easy with a simple user interface and can be found on Google play store or App Store (Apple users). Link to the app is:
“Roorkee Seva” was launched on 2nd September, 2022 at the Senate Hall, IITR with the attendance of the Mayor of Roorkee, Shri Gaurav Goyal; officers from Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited, the transport department, members of the medical fraternity along with the local residents, including senior citizens, retired staff, doctors and some service providers. Dignitaries from IIT Roorkee present were - former director of IITR, Prof. Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi; deputy Director, Prof. Manoranjan Parida and Professor Arun Kumar, Chairman, 175-year celebration committee. A flyer mentioning the installation and usage of the application was distributed amongst the attendees.
