Student Technical Council, IITR conducted the following events to mark the celebrations of 175th year of IITR: Pan India Case competition- Aeonea
ShARE IITR in partnership with “GeeksForGeeks” conducted a Pan India Case Competition – “Aeonea”, based on the theme “Shifting to Hybrid education in the New Normal” which saw 850+ students and reached around 1000+ engineering as well as management institutes from all over India.
The competition was the first instance of IIT Roorkee hosting a national-level business case competition, which helped promote the consulting culture on campus by improving the institute's reputation in the consulting industry attracting major consulting firms in the subsequent placement season. The real-world problem statement sourced from the corporate partner revolved around the Do Well Do Good concept and dealt with providing a well-structured tech community for high-school students to promote skill development from a younger age.
The competition was hosted on Unstop (formerly Dare2Compete) [https://unstop.com/competition/aeonea-indian-institute-of-technology-iit-roorkee-253688] and held online on Zoom Meetings.
To celebrate the completion of 175 years of IIT Roorkee, Finance Club organized two competitions - “R-Street Investment Challenge” and “R-Street Quant Challenge”.
R-Street Investment Challenge (10th - 17th Dec 2021) received about 2000 registrations and nationwide participation from several colleges, including reputed colleges like various IITs and IIMs. The first round of the R-Street Investment Challenge was a quiz conducted on Dare2Compete. From the first round,75 teams advanced to the second round. In the second round, teams were required to submit presentations on analysis of a company of their choice from the given list. The comprehensive analysis had focus on ESG Analysis,Competitior’s analysis,Valuation Analysis and a Risk Analysis. Finally, in the third round, the top 10 teams presented their presentation in front of the judge Mr. Vipin Chaudhary.
R-Street Quant Challenge (8th - 19th Dec 2021) received registration from 64 teams. The team size varied from 1-3 members. The first round included making prediction submissions on Kaggle for the given set of stock market data. Top 10 teams on the basis of their prediction score proceeded to the final round. In the second round, the top teams presented their approach to their solution in front of a panel of judges. This competition also received nationwide participation form teams across India
BackdoorCTF 2021
Backdoor Capture the Flag, conducted from 24th December, 2021 to 25th December, 2021, saw a participation of about 1100+ participants consisting of international participation from globally renowned teams (both academic and professional teams). It is amongst the top 3 highest rated CTFs of India.
