Anushruti Academy for the Deaf (AAD) is a humble social initiative of the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT R) located on IITR campus. The school delivers quality education to differently able children with speech and hearing impairments in and around Roorkee, Uttarakhand. The school came into existence in 1989 and has risen to be one of the finest initiatives of IIT R.

The journey of AAD touches the silver line by marking this as the 29th year of existence and making a difference. Lives of 90 differently able students are shaped and nurtured here through a dedicated team of 12 teachers & special educators, staff members, IIT R student volunteers, IITR Faculty, IIT R Alumni, our well wishers and the Management Committee. Faculty and Management of IIT Roorkee who have always and encouraged our endeavors.

The AAD family aims to set new standards in the education of children with hearing impairments through professional excellence, research and development alongwith design and technology based interventions. AAD is stepping into a future every new moment through nurturing silence and creating lives.
