Our lab deals with emerging arboviral diseases and discovery of antiviral molecules against these viruses using principles of structural biology, cell biology, molecular biology and biochemistry. Structural studies of pathogenic virus/viral proteins are done using X ray crystallography, computational biology and Cryo Electron microscopy (CryoEM). Our group has established high throughput (HTP) viral enzymatic and antiviral assays to discover antivirals against alphavirus and flavivirus targets.
Our group aim to give an antiviral drug or vaccine that will have the potential to be marketed for prophylaxis and/or treatment for chikungunya virus (CHIKV), dengue virus (DENV) and other related viruses.
