Indian Institutes - Suggestive Operating Procedure (SOP)

Activities under the DST India Africa programme

  • Visits of faculty from ACEs to relevant Indian Academic and R&D Institutions to enhance capacities for research and teaching (48 every year) ;
  • Visits of students from ACEs enrolled in selected programs to relevant Indian Academic and R&D Institutions for training and research (26 every year);
  • Visits of faculty from relevant Indian Academic and R&D Institutions for short duration teaching in ACEs (14 every year);
  • Workshops organized in relevant Indian Academic and R&D Institutions on curriculum design for selected programs (4 every year);
  • Development of "sandwich" post-graduate programs where appropriate;
  • Promotion, preparation and organization of joint seminars and workshops
  • Research and innovation projects between faculty of ACEs and faculty of relevant Indian Academic and R&D Institutions in priority areas of the ACEs. Such research and innovation projects will aim to build the capacity of ACEs to raise the quality of postgraduate programs and offer research opportunities to students enrolled in these programs.

Additionally India-Africa Virtual R&D centres can be created in identified areas to facilitate the information flow and cooperation amongst stakeholders.

Visits of faculty from their institutions for short duration teaching, visits for discussion on the research and curricul development (up to 2 weeks) in ACEs and about the visits of students from ACEs enrolled in selected programs to relevant Indian Academic and R&D Institutions for training and research.

The organizing of the workshops in relevant Indian Academic and R&D Institutions on curriculum design for selected programs and calls for mutual understanding between all Indian Academic, R&D Institutions and DST for promotion, preparation and organization of joint seminars and workshops are also envisaged.
