Government Polytechnic Gauchar was established in 1975 for imparting Engineering Education and
promoting Technological Environment of Garhwal Region, the State and Country. It was started with only
one Branch in Civil Engineering. This is most efficient institute in all over Uttarakhand.

Government Polytechnic Gauchar is associated to Uttarakhand Board of
Technical Education Roorkee and approved by the Government of India. Every year an entrance exam is conducted by
Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education Roorkee (UBTER). After qualifying this Exam (JEEP) students are selected
through counseling for Government Polytechnic Gauchar. There are various Diploma Courses are conducting in Government
Polytechnic Gauchar. These Courses are Civil Engineering, Electronics Engineering and Information Technology with
also a Pharmacy Branch.
