About Institute

       In the year 1991 by the initiative of formal state Minister Honerable Puran Chandra Sharma and S. S. Pangti Commissioner, Director General (Tourism Department). The Government Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology & applied nutrition, Almora (GIHM Almora) was came into light to provide the best knowledge to the students who want to established their carrier in hospitality, Hotel & Tourism Industry. The institute helps them to developed an appropriate skills and knowledge for their present and future career needs.

       The institute was conducting a 3 years diploma in hotel management and catering till 2006 and has introduced a 4 years Bachelor Course in Hotel Management since 2007 which is affiliated to Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) under Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

       GIHM Almora is one of the best institute in north India. As we have students studying here are not only from Uttarakhand but also from other states and they are availing the best knowledge, facilities and placements in many national and international Hotels.
