Paper Submission

FULL PAPER SUBMISSION AND PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

All the authors whose abstract is selected are invited to submit full papers. Submissions must be original and should not have been published previously or be under consideration for publication while being evaluated for this conference.  Selected papers will be peer reviewed to publish in a special issue of Journal of Indian Society of Remote Sensing or Springer publication Lecture notes in Civil Engineering.

Note: The selection of papers for the specific journal will be done by the reviewer committee of the UASG 2019 after reviewing all the selected full papers. In any case, a decision made by the reviewer, a committee will be final and no objections will be entertained regarding the selection of journal.  

Step A: Manuscript Preparation

  1. The manuscript should be prepared in paper format using MS WORD and/or LaTeX template available respectively in MS Word (.doc), and LaTeX. The guidelines given here may help you to prepare the manuscript. The preferable format of the manuscript is through LaTeX.
  2. The figures/graphs/ plots in the manuscript MUST be of high resolution (600 dpi or more), tables MUST NOT be in pictorial format. Text in figures should not be too small, and preferably of equal size as the text of the article.
  3. Figures, text, or the tables MUST be visible within the boundary of the text area of the page and MUST NOT go beyond it.
  4. Do NOT use any Social / Academic titles (e.g. Mr., Ms., Dr., Prof. etc) preceding the author names. Do NOT mention the position of a person (e.g., research scholar, student, assistant professor, professor, IEEE member, IEEE student member etc.) in the affiliation.
  5. Mention full address, affiliation, and email of ALL authors specify a corresponding author with the corresponding e-mail ID. [Once an article is accepted, the publisher will send the proofreading of an article to this e-mail]
  6. Do not make any page numbering and do not give any running head title.
  7. Every article must bear a self-composed independent single paragraph as Abstract, which MUST NOT bear any citation or reference.
  8. Articles must be written in spell checked and grammatically correct English.
  9. All references, figures, and tables should be numbered in sequence starting from 1 and MUST be duly cited/referred within the text.
  10. Adhere to page size (A4 : 8.27″X11.69″), page margin size (top:2.05″, bottom:2.05″, left/inside: 1.73″, right/outside: 1.73″), line spacing ( ‘single’ ), and font style ( ‘Times’ ), font sizes (Title: 14pt – bold, Abstract: 9 pt, Keywords: 9 pt, Section header : 12 pt – bold, Subsection header: 10 pt – bold, Table and figure caption: 10 pt – bold, Text body: 10 pt) as prescribed in the template, do not manually alter ANY of these parameters.
  11. Verify the referencing style, which will help to produce correct reference format. A reference should bear the following parameters in proper format: author name(s), the title of article/book, conference/journal name, volume, issue, page numbers, and publication year.
  12. Any article, not in format, will be subjected to rejection without any judgment on its quality.
  13. The articles should be the own work of the authors. If any work is referred from others (or some other work by the author), the proper acknowledgement should be given. Plagiarism of any type, if detected, will lead to rejection of the articles anytime.
  14. All submitted papers will be checked for plagiarism through the Turnitin software. Papers with significant overlap with the authors own papers or other papers will be rejected without review (10% plagiarism is Permisible).
  15. Papers must be anonymized to facilitate blind review. Authors are encouraged to minimize any references that may reveal the identity of the authors and their institutions. Relevant references to an author's previous research should not be suppressed but instead referenced in a neutral way.
  16. All papers that conform to submission guidelines will be peer reviewed and evaluated based on originality, technical and/or research content/depth, correctness, relevance to conference, contributions, and readability. Acceptance of papers will be communicated to authors by email. The authors of the accepted papers will be allowed to make corrections in accordance with the suggestions of the reviewers and submit final camera-ready papers within the stipulated deadline. The conference abstract booklet will be distributed amongst the participants during the conference.
  17. At least one author should register for each accepted paper and He/She has to be presented at the conference. Only presented papers (Oral/Poster) in the conference will be published.

 

Step B: After Acceptance

  1. Preparing and uploading of the Camera Ready Article:

The final camera-ready copy of the papers must be in a prescribed format with a length of a minimum of 6 pages and maximum 20 pages. Over-length charges will apply for each extra page beyond 20 pages. However, it is desired that a maximum number of pages in an article should not exceed 20 pages in any circumstance. Check Step A: Manuscript preparation above for formatting the camera ready article. Send camera-ready PDF and Word File on to the paper_uasg2019@iitr.ac.in, and submit source file(s) along with items mentioned in Section 4 (below) as .zip or .rar file.

  1. Filling up of the Registration Form, which can be found in PDF format here
  2. Filling up of the Consent to Publish Form, which can directly be downloaded from here 
  3. Mailing the following items in .zip / .rar format to paper_uasg2019@iitr.ac.in 
  4. The Camera-ready Article source files, preferably in MS Word format
  5. Scanned copy of filled in Registration Form.
  6. Scanned copy of filled in Consent to Publish Form.
  7. A scan of registration fee pay-in-slip/voucher of online transfer/DD payable to UASG 2019 (whichever applicable).

The mail must bear the subject line as: “Registration of article UASG2019”.

(A SINGLE MAIL must bear all items below. If size exceeds 20 MB, break the mail into more than one. Append to the subject line of the emails: Part 1, Part 2 etc. Multiple emails without size limitation will not be considered.)

 

Step C: Presentation Preparation

The language of the Workshop will be English. Simultaneous translation will not be provided. The Symposium will have many international participants whose first language is not English. To assure that there is effective communication between the speaker and the audience, a speaker must speak clearly, slowly, and concisely. Oral and Poster Presentations Guidelines:

 

    a) Oral Presentation
  • You can find your session online in the program (after 20th Mrach). [here]
  • You have to use the conference’s computer for your presentation. The presentation should be in MS Office PowerPoint (*.ppt/pptx). [Ppt Template]
  • The time slot for every oral presentation is strictly 10 minutes. Please plan your presentation to follow the above schedule.
  • The number of slides should be 15 (must not be beyond 20).
  • Presentation slides must be mailed to paper_uasg2019@iitr.ac.in on or before 01-Apr-2019.
  • The mail MUST bear a subject line “Presentation slide of article UASG2019”

 

    b) Poster Presentation
  • You can find your session online in the program (after 20th Mrach). [here]
  • Please prepare a poster of size A0 (84.1cm x 118.9cm) in portrait orientation. [Poster Template]
  • Design the space allocation carefully using several well-balanced sections including title, objectives, methodology, input data, case study, results, analysis, conclusions, etc. All sections should be well-presented using coloured paper or a colourfully painted border. Sections may be connected by arrows to show the flow of study.
  • Use large characters that are at least 1 cm high and have a line width of at least 1 mm, the larger the better.
  • Give each section a title and a brief explanation.
  • Posters must be mailed to paper_uasg2019@iitr.ac.in on or before 01-Apr-2019.
  • The presenter must be present in front of His/Her poster during the display.
  • Please hang on your poster before the session starts. Adhesive tapes/pins will be provided to fix the poster on the Board/wall.

 

Step D: Best Paper Awards

As evaluated by UASG 2019 Advisory Committee and UASG 2019 Members, FOUR papers will be given Best Paper Award (s) for UASG 2019. The above committee will judge the oral presentations and posters of the selected papers during the conference before finalizing the list. The winners will be declared during the closing ceremony of the conference.
