Railway Board advised RDSO to develop a spill proof fuelling arrangement. RDSO studied the various fuelling arrangements being used in American Railroads by IOCL and also the one being used in aircrafts. A positive spill proof nozzle and fuel inlet adopter of the dry break type without auto shut off feature and with receptacle (Max Spillage per fuelling) has been designed and drat specification for the same has been developed. A prototype of this spill proof refuelling system was developed in association with IOCL and tested at NDLS and AMV shed.
