Roorkee town is situated 50 km south of the lower Himalayan Range and lies in the district of Haridwar in Uttarakhand. It is considered to be the gateway to pilgrimage centres of many renowned places like Haridwar, Rishikesh and hill stations such as Mussoorie.
Roorkee is well connected by roads and is located 180 km north of New Delhi. Roorkee is connected to New Delhi by rail as well. Buses from Inter-State BUs Terminal (ISBT), New Delhi to Dehradun/Haridwar/Rishikesh pass through Roorkee. Taxi services are also available from Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi Railway Station and ISBT. THe superfast Dehradun Shatabdi and Janshatabdi Express are the most convenient trains for travelling between New Delhi and Roorkee.
The temperature in Roorkee varies between 14°C to 24°C during late November.
Limited accommodation is available in the Institute Guest House and Student Hostels, which will be booked by the organizers on a first-come-first-served basis.
Registration form includes the necessary information for requesting accommodation - please ensure to fill up the form completely. For students, first preference will be student hostels only.
Participants, who have already registered for the conference without providing the necessary details in the conference form, may send their request to ampco2017@gmail.com , mentioning "accommodation request" as subject line. Please include your status (whether student or not), paper ID/s, number of people with full names of each occupant, gender, period of stay (including time) in the requested accommodation. Please note that depending upon availability, a participant might have to share the room with other participants. Charges applicable for the accommodation have to be paid in full by the participants. All IIT Roorkee rules will be applicable the accommodation in IIT hostels and guest houses.
Apart from these limited number accommodations, hotels are available nearby IIT Roorkee. A list of some hotels, along with tentative charges, contact numbers can be found here . Participants are requested to contact the hotels directly for booking.
A half-day sightseeing tour to Haridwar and Rishikesh will be organized on 2nd December, 2017, afternoon. As seats are limited, requests will be entertained on a first-come-first-served basis.
