Wellness Centre, IIT Roorkee, constitutes a team of enthusiastic campus volunteers coming together to help the community for the more significant benefit of all. The team comprises valuable members comprising of General Secretary, Deputy General Secretaries, and Secretaries of various divisions such as Design, Web Development, Editorial, Events and Promotions for effortless operations.


The forefront initiatives of Wellness Centre, IIT Roorkee include orientation of the new batch of students by making them feel settled and comfortable. The wellness centre has also set up a counselling portal that helps digitalize appointment booking and management.

In October, Wellness Centre celebrated World Mental Health month. A series of events were organized to celebrate mental health and raise awareness. Some of them were Quiz on mental health and Adlerian Psychology, a webinar on the Myths and Misconceptions about mental health issues and a conversation on deconstructing stressors from the mental well-being perspective, along with an art competition. 'Express to Inspire'. To address the worldwide issue of COVID-19 pandemic, an Insta Live session with Eisha Chopra(Actor, Writer and Mental Health Activist) in conversation with Dr. Sneha Sharma (Co-founder, reDockto and MD Psychiatry) was organized. COVID-19 initiatives also constituted ENCORE Funds supported by institute alumni for students who have faced adverse impact and associated difficulties due to the Covid-19 outbreak. More than 110 students were provided assistance by reimbursement of medical bills and setting up digital education requirements like inverter, router, etc.

Moreover, the representation of the Wellness Centre extends to include the Students' Aid Committee, Institute Medical Emergency Fund Committee and Hospital Advisory Committee. The purpose is to provide financial support to needy students and IITR Community and suggest and implement various initiatives to better the services provided by IITR Hospital. More than 8 lakhs in funds were collected last year to help 5 students with severe medical emergencies.

Wellness Centre plans to organize town hall meetings, incorporate biofeedback tools, expand the Wellness library and launch psychometric tools.
