Dr. Pratibha Jolly:

Dr. Pratibha Jolly served for 14 years from 2005 to 2019 as Principal Miranda House, college for women at the University of Delhi. Under her dynamic leadership the college received All India Rank One under NIRF, a feat sustained for five years since 2017. Dr. Jolly is currently leading the development of GATI (Gender Advancement for Transforming Institutions) self-assessment framework, resources and guidance as the Principal Investigator of this novel pilot project launched by the Department of Science and Technology. Dr. Jolly was Chair of IUPAP (International Union of Pure and Applied Physics) Commission on Physics Education (ICPE) for six years from 2005 to 2011; and Vice President IUPAP (elected from amongst commission chairs) from 2005 to 2008. She was awarded the IUPAPICPE Medal 2019 for distinguished service to physics education with international impact. She was co-chair of the thematic group on education for development of the national Science Technology and Innovation Policy (STIP) 2020. Dr. Jolly received Ph.D. in Chemical Physics from University of Delhi in 1980. She is fellow of National Academy of Sciences India (NASI) and Institute of Physics (IoP), UK. Currently she is with National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) as Academic Consultant



Dr. Sophy K.J.

Dr Sophy K J is Assistant Professor of Law at the National Law University Delhi since 2013. She was Post-doctoral Fellow in the project, Laws of Social Reproduction, sponsored by European Research Council, anchored by the King’s College of London. She focused her research on ‘Paid Domestic Work. Her subjects of teaching are Labour and development, Unorganised sector and the Labour and Legal History at the University. She is engaged with many policy initiatives with the international organizations, state governments, Law Commission and civil society organisations. Her policy work includes assisting in drafting of labour policies, Bill on Domestic Workers, Rulemaking for Bonded labourers, drafting policy for ‘the Protection of Early Childhood Care and Development’, uniform legislation for informal sector etc.. Her recent policy work included drafting Bill for Domestic Workers, titled, Domestic Workers Regulation of Work and Social Security Bill, 2017. She is also part of assisting litigation in the Supreme Court for the construction workers and domestic workers. She had been part of various projects such as UNDP-GoI project on “Access to Justice for the marginalised- the construction workers at Noida” and IGSSS project on ‘Impact of the BOCW Act on the Construction Workers in India’. She is currently assisting the Chattisgarh Government on ‘Rule making process related to the Four Labour Codes’.



Dr. Taru Sharma

Dr. G. Taru Sharma is a molecular reproductive biologist, with the major research emphasis on buffalo embryo genomics and stem cell therapeutics in livestock and pets. She received her doctorate in 1989 from ICAR-IVRI and completed her postdoctoral training from the LSU, USA on somatic cell cloning using bovine IVF embryos. Before joining DBT-NIAB, she worked as the Principal Scientist and Head Physiology and Climatology Division, Faculty of Veterinary Physiology at ICAR- IVRI, Izatnagar. Dr. Sharma has developed a novel, innovative and efficacious three-dimensional (3D) microenvironment model, developed efficient technique for buffalo female germplasm cryopreservation in indigenously developed cryo-device. She has published more than 125 research papers of International repute. She is Fellow in NASI, NAAS, FAO and SAPI and has mentored more than thirty M.V.Sc and Ph.D scholars, authored books/ book chapters. She is an executive member of NAAS and member of the Inter academia panel for women in STEMM. Dr. Sharma is the founder president of Animal Physiologists Association and has received numerous Awards for her accomplishments. Her notable awards include: • ICAR- RAFI AHMED KIDWAI AWARD-2018 (Highest research award of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi) • G. P. Talwar Oration Gold Medal-2019 • ICAR-Bharat Ratna Dr. C. Subramaniam Award for Outstanding Teachers- 2016. • Labhsetwar award by for the significant contributions in an area of Reproductive Physiology-2016 • Dr. A. Roy Memorial Award-2012 7. Award of honor by the Governor of U.P on World Veterinary Day, for successfully treated Canine spinal injuries, paraplegia, non-union fracture healing and wound repair through stem cell therapy-2011 • DBT- NATIONAL BIOSCIENCE AWARD FOR CAREER DEVELOPMENT-2006 • Nils Lagerlof Memorial Award- 2001 • Young scientists Merit certificate by Indian Science Congress Association-1994 • Young scientist’s award and young scientist gold medal from SAPI-1993.



Rashmi Verma

Rashmi Verma, an alumnus of IIT Roorkee, India, obtained a Bachelors of Engineering with Distinction in 1977 and an MS from Eastern Washington University, USA in 1979. She has over 35 years of rich experience in technology, management and entrepreneurship in the IT industry. Starting her career as a Software Engineer at IBM, USA she grew rapidly to being a consultant to IBM Global Business Services. Not satisfied with the career trajectory, she quit a successful career of 12 years in the USA to return to India in the early 90s. Suffused with a strong desire to bring innovative IT solutions to India, she and her husband started out on their own. She has led MapmyIndia’s pioneering and path-breaking efforts to create the foundation, framework and architecture for a robust and scalable model of digital mapping in India. She established the passion for building maps as the basic DNA of MapmyIndia. As part of this monumental effort, Rashmi selflessly trained, mentored and created a team of passionate GIS and digital mapping and software professionals at MapmyIndia. Technology being her forte, she has actively driven innovation in the areas of digital maps, location based products by making technologies such as GPS, IOT, Big Data, AI and Machine Learning customary within the company. MapMyIndia recently went for a successful IPO issue, valuing it at a whopping $ 1.12 bn. A frequent speaker at forums of Women Business Leaders, she continues to inspire women entrepreneurs to live their dream.



Dr Pratima Murthy:

Dr. Pratima Murthy is a Bangalore Medical College alumnus. She completed her Diploma and MD in Psychiatry from NIMHANS and has a Diploma in Psychological Medicine from the University of Manchester, UK. Professor Murthy has contributed to public policy in mental health, addictions, and integration of mental illness with non-communicable diseases. She has also been involved in improving institutional mental health care for women through her work with the National Commission for Women.



International Women's Day

Ms. Helena Mattingley is the Head of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion for King's College London. Leading on compliance, EDI data and operations for EDI, she also is the strategic programme manager for university gender equality work under the Athena Swan framework. Helena is the lead for the GATI partnership for King’s College London. Since beginning her role as Head of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion 4 years ago, King’s College London has since been recognised with a Gold Stonewall award (LGBTQ+ inclusion), a Silver Athena Swan award, and a Bronze Race Equality Charter award. She has been published and gives talks on equality, diversity and inclusion, particularly on intersectional gender inclusion.

Dr. Anita Guptais currently Head of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Department of Science and Technology. She is deeply involved in transforming the Indian innovation landscape by engaging new models of Public Private Partnerships with leading MNCs i.e Intel, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, etc. She is driving the key program on Innovation i.e India Innovation Growth Program, Power of Ideas and Innovate for Digital India. In the Ministry, she spearheads a new and exclusive component on Women Entrepreneurs in technology and few of her recent work are first of its kind initiatives in the country, which include setting up of Department's first Research Park in IIT Gandhinagar, Seed and Acceleration support for Startups in Incubators, etc. Apart from National outreach, she has contributed immensely in fostering result oriented International linkages with countries like China, Malaysia, Cambodia, etc. She has contributed number of articles in leading forums and platforms including print and digital media.

Dr. Nisha Mendiratta is working as Advisor/ Scientist ‘G’ and Head of two important Programme Divisions, namely Women Scientists Programme (WISE-KRAN) and Climate Change Programme (CCP), in the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India. She has more than thirty years of experience in the research and applied fields of Science. She is serving as a resource member in many national and international committees and task forces and also is an identified resource person in leading organisations viz. UPSC, IIPA, TERI, ASCI, Indo-Swiss,Indo-UK and Indo-USA Forums.
