GATI AICB Workshop

The gender Advancement for transforming Institutions (GATI) pilot program, IIT Roorkee, organized a Personality Development Workshop from 22nd to 23rd Feb 2023 for the visually impaired girls students from the All India Confederation of the Blinds (AICB), New Delhi.

The workshop started with an interactive session with visually impaired girls and alumni of IIT Roorkee. In two days, Multiple sessions were conducted covering various aspects of personality development, such as the miracle morning routine for personality reprogramming, the role of mental well-being and personality development, exploring creative and innovative dimensions, a training session on effective communication using Johari’s Window ( It’s a technique used for improving an individual’s self-awareness and development in group situations), time management, Setting priorities, customizing experiences to life events and cultural program presentation by girls from AICB, were conducted.
The visually impaired girls also visited the Anushruti Academy of Deaf (AAD) IIT Roorkee. There was an interactive session with Visually impaired and Deaf students. Address by Prof Pranita P Sarangi, nodal officer GATI, Dr. Hema Pant, President AAD, Prof Navneet Arora, Prof Sonal Atrey, Dr.Manjula Rath (Coordinator AICB). Visit to Tides incubator at IIT Roorkee. Here girls got to interact with Entrepreneurs of the products like menstrual hygiene pants. Interactive Session with Dr.Sanjeev Mittal, HOD Ophthalmology AIIMS Rishikesh. Dr. Mittal interacted one on one with the blind students. Closing ceremony graced by Prof K.K Pant, Director IIT Roorkee.
