Ankit Dasgotra obtained his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Himachal Pradesh Technical University, Hamirpur and Masters in Thermal Engineering from IIT Roorkee. His Masters work was on Gas Explosion Modelling and Simulation. He worked on a case of Computational reconstruction of IOCL Jaipur Depot incident 2009 using FLACS.
