Earlier power supply to IIT Roorkee campus was through 33kV overhead line which was prone to frequent tripping, disturbances especially during rainy season. Laying of dedicated 2 run, 33kV, 3Cx300 sqmm, 5.4kM underground cable from 220kV Ram Nagar substation to 33kV IIT Roorkee substation has been completed by Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) on deposit work basis. This will ensure reliable power supply without any seasonal disturbances.
