Elder abuse and fear of crime among the elderly is a new field for the criminological and sociological research in India. There is a direct need of sharing of research and scientific enquiries to analyze this issue from multiple perspectives. The proposed Two-day workshop intends to fill the vacuum in the field of crime against the elderly and can be a platform for sharing of knowledge on problems faced by the elderly in the wake of rise in crime against them, particularly in bigger cities and possible preventive measures to assuage the fear of crime among them.

The purpose of the workshop is to bring together a variety of gerontology researchers from academics, civil society and government to learn about and finding solution to the growing menace of crime against the elderly.
