Miscellaneous
  • Since beginning of current Semester, Multimedia based interactive GIS lectures have been introduced. PDA based GPS has also been introduced and later this GPS has been used by the students within the IITR campus to collect GCPs for georeferencing of IITR-GIS map., New enhancements in the existing IITR - Satellite Earth Station (SES) have been successfully implemented. Now IITR-SES also acquires MVISR data from Feng Yun - CHRPT satellites alsong with NOAA-AVHRR data., Very soon a near real time IITR-SES data link between IITR-SES and FSI Dehra Dun will be established. The remote sensing data acquired by IITR-SES from different satellites will be used by FSI for forest fire detections., Research linkages between IITR-SES and NIH (Roorkee), FSI (DDun) and IIRS (DDun) have been established.
