Salient Features

The faculty of Department of Electrical Engineering participated actively in professional activities and contributed significantly to industrial consultancy.

The UNDP funded multidisciplinary project on “Pro Poor IT Initiatives in Uttaranchal” made satisfactory progress and under the project a Portal has been developed and Beta Version has already been launched . Nineteen Suchana Kutir have been set up and serving as outlet for many government services. This project will be completed by the end of the year 2005. Uttaranchal Government has further given another multidisciplinary project on “Pro-Poor e-governance Initiatives in Uttarnachal”. A funding of Rs. 4 crores has already been received. The size of the project is likely to go up to Rs. 10 crores.

Many projects in the area of Performance Evaluation of Small Hydro Power Substations have been carried out.

The students of the department contributed to the success of Cognizance-2005 held during March, 2005.

Major Sponsored Researches and Consultancy Projects

“Pro-poor IT initiatives in Uttaranchal”, PI : H.K.Verma

  The project on the recommendations of the Government of Uttaranchal, has made remarkable progress and will be completed by the end of year 2005. Nineteen Suchana Kutirs have already been installed and working satisfactorily. The Uttaranchal Government has further given another interdisciplinary project on “Pro-Poor e-governance Initiatives in Uttaranachal”. A funding of Rs. 4 crores has already been received. The progress of the Project is satisfactory and the duration of the project is likely to be longer and total funding of the project may go up to Rs. 10 crores.

Under the initiation of the Ministry of Non Conventional Energy Sources (MNES), Govt. of India performance evaluation of two recently commissioned small hydro power stations at Madhavram in Andhra Pradesh and Babbalpur in Punjab have been carried out and two small hydro power stations in HP and Punjab are in progress. All these are in private sector. This is interdisciplinary activity alongwith AHEC & MIED.
