Dr. Venkatesh V was born and brought up in a small beautiful village called Nachimuthupuram in Tamilnadu. After completing his bachelor degree in chemistry from Gobi arts and science college, Gobichettipalayam, he pursued his master degree in chemistry from Anna University, Chennai. He then moved to IIT Kanpur to carry out his doctoral research work under the guidance of Prof. Sandeep Verma in the area of bio-inorganic chemistry. He was awarded doctoral degree in chemistry in November 2014 and subsequently awarded the Newton international fellowship to carry out postdoctoral research in The University of Warwick. In Warwick, he worked in the area of photoactivatable metallodrugs for therapeutic applications under the mentorship of Professor Peter J Sadler. In 2017, he joined the department of inorganic and physical chemistry, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore to start his independent research under the DST-INSPIRE faculty award scheme. On 04/09/2019, he joined in the department of chemistry, IIT Roorkee as Assistant Professor. His research interest lies in the interface of chemistry and biology. He is credited with Eli Lilly and Company Asia Outstanding Thesis Award.
