Complex Fluid Dynamics and Microfluidics (CFDM) Research Lab Dr. Ram P. Bharti
CFDM explores the forced and mixed convective hydrodynamic and heat transfer characteristics of complex non-Newtonian fluids flowing across bluff bodies and through microfluidic geometries of circular and non-circular cross-sections. CFDM has been using in-house developed solvers (based on FVM, LBM and Meshless methods), commercial tools (ANSYS FLUENT, COMSOL Multiphysics) and open-source tools (OpenFOAM, OpenLB, etc.). We are also developing the advanced numerical algorithms for the multiphysics simulations of microfluidics and complex fluid flow systems. Fuel cells have also been one of the focus of our research.

Engineering of Catalysis and Reaction Kinetics Research Lab Dr. Prakash Biswas
Primary interest of our research group includes the design, synthesis, reaction study and reaction kinetic modelling for various industrially important reactions. We design and synthesize various shape and size selective nano-structured materials as heterogeneous catalysts for the application in the conversion of biomass into valuable chemicals and fuels, conversion of hydrocarbon, reforming, CO2 utilization, hydrogen production etc. Fundamental understanding the relationship between the catalysts structure, size, composition and their performance is also an important domain of our interest.
Energy and Environment Research Lab Dr. N. Siva Mohan Reddy
Our research group works on conversion of biomass into fuels through thermo-chemical and hydrothermal processes. We also work on impregnation of various (single & mixed) metal catalysts in the biomass and then gasify/liquefy them to enhance the fuel yields. We have started a new area on material synthesis using waste biomass. These materials have potential application for the antibacterial, antiviral and anticancer activities. The green synthesized biomaterials also find their applications towards toxic metal/pollutant removal, fuel cell, air purification and biological applications.

Molecular Simulations and Drug Delivery (MSDD) Research Lab Dr. Prateek K. Jha
Ongoing research in the MSDD laboratory are in the broad areas of controlled drug release, multiscale modeling of stimuli-responsive polymers, and computational design of catalysts. The laboratory has experimental facilities for drug dissolution testing such as USP dissolution apparatus (1&2), orbital incubating shaker, UV-vis spectrophotometer, and high-end computational workstations and software for quantum chemistry calculations, atomistic simulations, and multiphysics simulations.
