From this year Microsoft has started the trend of conducting a webinar, a week prior to the hackathon, for students to understand technologies to help improve their app building abilities. This will give students an understanding and insight into technologies used to build better quality apps.

The workshop by Prof. D.S. Broca stood out in many aspects. Though the crowd was small, the students enjoyed the hands on approach at process simulation. Prof. Broca's style was both engaging and exciting and he had a unique way of connecting the day to day life with process modelling and simulation.
An attempt ACM Student Chapter to help the fellow students to take appropriate decisions regarding their careers at the right time and also enlighten the students regarding the foreign internships' huckles and buckles and their procedures. The event was a grand success with an overwhelming response from the audience.
First introductory session for the IITR students. The primary focus was to give the freshers a glimpse of ACM and what the chapter is doing as a student group within the campus. The event witnessed a good turnover of students from both 1st and 2nd year.

The IIT Roorkee ACM Student Chapter is an official student body incepted in 2014 under the aegis of Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Roorkee. We are a group of dedicated CS students who are working towards promoting the knowledge of Computer Science to CS as well as non-CS students with the aim of improving general as well as specialized scientific interests. The chapter aims at uniting the computing fraternity at IIT Roorkee under one tag and allowing the students to learn together and share their knowledge to cater the interests of the individuals as well as the institute as a whole. The chapter organizes a number of events including programming contests, talks by renowned speakers, workshops etc.which give the students an exposure to the competitive computing world as well as allow them to understand the advancements going on in the computing sphere worldwide.
