ABOUT INSTITUTE HOSPITAL, IIT ROORKEE
Institute Hospital, IIT Roorkee (formerly University of Roorkee Hospital) was established on 26th November, 1957. It provides round-the-clock healthcare services to students, faculty, staff members, and their dependents.
The hospital is a 40-bedded facility, offering a range of medical services including Outpatient Department (OPD), Emergency and Inpatient Department (IPD) care, Physiotherapy, Pathology Laboratory, X-Ray, and ECG services. Ambulance services are also available for referring patients to higher medical centers, operating efficiently to meet emergency needs.
The hospital service is operated by a Chief Medical Officer, supported by a team of full-time Medical Officers, Visiting Specialists, and Paramedical staff. To guide healthcare policy on campus, the Director has constituted a Hospital Advisory Committee, chaired by the Chairman Hospital Advisory Committee. This committee plays a key role in formulating policies to ensure quality medical care for the campus community.
