Welcome to X-ray Computed Tomography (CT) Facility, IIT Roorkee. This facility offers Non-destructive Evaluation services to interested researchers. The CT machine can scan samples as big as 50 cm and as small as 10 microns. In the recent past, ceramic-metal composites, animal and bones, batteries, steel plates (2 cm thick), concrete slabs, meteorites, stone, 3D printed Metallic and polymer samples have been scanned successfully. The best resolution achieved is 0.1 micron. The system can be excited up to as high as 225 KV, and beam power can be raised as high as 450 Watts, ensuring beam penetration through most of the samples. The machine is registered on the I-STEM National Portal.
