Facilities
The Department has well equipped laboratories in the fields of analytical, inorganic and organic chemistry, organometallic chemistry, electrochemistry, biochemistry, photochemistry and polymer chemistry, nano chemistry. The department has acquired most of the state of art instruments necessary to conduct advanced level research. Some of the scientific instruments available are listed below:
- UV-Vis Spectrometer
- IR Spectrometer
- Atomic Absorption Spectrometer
- HPLC
- GC-MS
- Electrochemical Analyzer
- CHNSO Analyzer
- FTIR
400 MHz NMR and ESI/APCI mass spectrometers are going to be commissioned shortly.
In addition a variety of sophisticated instruments such as single crystal XRD, 500 MHz FT NMR spectrometer, Fluorescence life time measurement unit, spectrofluorimeter, thermal analyzers (TGA & TMA), TEM, SEM are housed in the institute instrumentation centre.
The Department has its own library in addition to the Institute’s main library
